I watched them on Can You Duet, I bought the Cheater Cheater mp3 the day it was released, and then I bought their first album "The Life of a Song" on its release date. After doing a little research, I found out that Joey released an album a few years earlier titled "Strong Enough to Cry" which you can buy through their website. I even met them this past fall when they did a free concert in Ashland Kentucky. They were extremely nice, and down to earth, they waited until every fan had met them before they left. Now, let's get to the album. I received a review copy, that's why my review is somewhat early. Album # 2 is a fantastic listen, from the titled track, up until the end with This Song's for You. They have improved since their first release, and they didn't really play it safe this time. Each song tells a story, and they sing them as if they have lived each story, their depth...Read more 5 of 6 people found the following review helpful: Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Album Number Two (Audio CD) If there could be such a thing as a classic for a musical duo barely a couple of years old, this would be it. If you love Joey and Rorey, you will love this one. This is real country music, the likes of which we haven't seen in a long time. Keep it comin guys and keep it real. We love you and your music.
As any fan knows, this is not really the second album. Joey did one prior to album one and it can still be purchased on the Joey & Rory site. I think it is still my favorite of the three, but all three are genuine country music, carefully but simply crafted by two people who love each other, country music, and the Lord. Good stuff. I hope you do sell a million copies like it says on the "Baby I'll come back to you track." 5 of 7 people found the following review helpful: Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Album Number Two (Audio CD) Joey & Rory have assembled here some refreshing country music.
Some songs are reflections of their lives and careers, others are inspireing. Joey and Rory's music is refreshingly real, and connect with everyday life through some very moving lyrics. This album is a mix of country swing, a little bluegrass, and beautiful love songs. Some songs are sentimential, and some will make you smile. There are some very clever lyrics, and in the fabric of many of their songs is woven the value of honor, integrity and love. They have a sincere gentle way of appreciating life and each other. This is GREAT country music. |
