The greatest bluegrass stars in history come out on this incredible album. The people at MCA Universal have put together the "best of the best" on this compilation of Grandpa Jones, The Osborn Brothers and Smokey River Boys hits.
The collection represents the "Biggest bluegrass stars of MCA Universal" all in one comprehensive purchase. This album is worth a fortune to a bluegrass audience, tuned in to the sounds of the greatest pioneers who stood on the stage of the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville.
Not only do you have a cut by Legends Hall Of Fame members, The Smokey River Boys, but you have music from all their contemporaries such as Buck Trent, Lester Flatt, Earl Scruggs, and others now in the Bluegrass Hall Of Fame.
This album is worth any amount of money to a collector of the great hits of some of bluegrass music's greatest stars.

Mostly not banjo music,
January 15, 2010 This review is from: Best of Banjo Music (Audio CD)
Of the ten songs on this CD, only 4 actually feature bluegrass banjo music. In addition to those 4, there is one Dixieland, 2 with mostly twangy singing and some banjo backup, and 3 with little or no banjo at all. If you are looking for a good sample of bluegrass banjo, save your money. But if you want a cross section of some bluegrass, some down-home singing and some miscellaneous stuff, you might like this CD. I was very disappointed, however.

Some of the Best from Some of the Best!,

If you like banjo pieces, you will like this. From what many would consider 'classic' 'Dueling Banjos' to funny 'Pickin Time' you will hear some great examples of banjo music. I just wish there were more selections on this CD.
