Schwent (Bloomsdale, MO United States) - See all my reviews This review is from: Best Of Roy Clark, The (Audio CD) If you are looking for his "fast picking Hee Haw sounding songs," sorry. To be honest, he never recorded anything like that. He usually recorded slow, string-laden ballads. These recordings are from his mid 60's tenure on Capitol records where they tried to market him as a pop singer. Lots of strings and background vocalists. Not bad music by any means. Included is his masterful, and original, version of "Malengunua," and also "The Tips of My Fingers." If you are serious about your collection, this belongs in it. 8 of 11 people found the following review helpful: This review is from: Best Of Roy Clark, The (Audio CD) If you're hoping for the fast-pickin' country music that you probably heard Roy Clark play on the old Hee Haw TV show, this is NOT what you're looking for. This is slow, schmaltzy (and in my opinion boring) music. The sound samples available as of January 18, 2000 seem out of sync with this album. If you click on the songs and hear the singing of someone who sounds a bit like Julie Andrews in "The Sound Of Music", then you're not hearing the samples from the Roy Clark CD. Someone at Amazon goofed. 1 of 2 people found the following review helpful: By CATHY (NY) - See all my reviews This review is from: Best Of Roy Clark, The (Audio CD) BOUGHT FOR MY MOTHER - SHE HADN'T HEARD MELIQUINA(NOT SURE OF SPELLING)
