Summary: Cajun Music Where It Began 2007-03-10
Comment: A man who only made hits as long as he made music. This CD is made of old music recorded before cassettes were even used. The quality isn't the best because of this but Iry's scratchy voice makes it's way into you and you just can't get enough. Some of these recordings are so detrimental to cajun music today. Amede Armoire and Iry Lejeune....Cajun music pioneers. If you don't have this CD then your missing out on a lot of heritage, talent and history. And of course good music.

Summary: Cajun Music's Finest Accordion Player 2003-01-06
Comment: You can look for a thousand years but you'll never find a more technically adept accordionist than Iry LeJeune. I'll cut right to the chase: despite the raw, old-time sound of his recordings, you could never discount the technical mastery of this true Cajun legend. Before or since, there is no accordionist that even comes close to the mastery of the instrument as does Iry. Lawrence Walker and Aldus Roger were both very good accordion players but they fall indescribably short of the genius of Iry. His double stops, trills and other adornments have never since his time been attempted, much less approximated. If you buy only one Cajun CD in your lifetime, this should be the one you buy.

Summary: The real stuff 2001-05-13
Comment: If you are looking for something different than all the rest, try this cd. This is what traditional cajun music comes is. Iry brings back the old tunes of his forefathers-Amede Ardoin and his uncle Angelas LeJeune and gives them life for generations to come. If you are looking for something other than the new style, try this cd. This is where it all began.
