I ordered this CD thinking that it was the first volume only of Time Life's Great Story Songs from their Classic Country series, and was pleasantly surprised to receive both volumes of Great Story Songs (Vols. 1 and 2). This is the kind of music that I grew up listening to, and is what I consider to be real country music, to which the modern "Nashville pop" really does not compare, regardless of who's making money out of it. If you enjoy traditional American country music, then I highly recommend this set, as well as other volumes in the Classic Country series.

Great Story Songs / Classic Country series / Time Life single CD: Every great Country song is a `story song' but this CD has 20 of the EPIC stories told in Country Classic Songs. From Marty Robbins' "El Paso" to Charlie Daniels' "The Devil Went Down To Georgia", this is a Great Five Star CD.
