Summary: Letter from Mom to my five children when I sent this album to all of them 2008-09-29
Comment: I thought all of these songs together were a sermon put to music. I'd sure like it if all of you could just sit down together and listen to these songs. I think they're some of the most beautiful and meaningful songs I've heard in a long time. Gordon was born blind but given a most wonderful gift, and he enjoys passing it along.
1. The first one I dance to, and it's to praise God. I know your hearts are open to Him because of the life you live. He watches over us, doesn't He?
2. When we look around at all the beauty there is, we can't deny there is a Creator. Gordon can sing about it without ever seeing any of it. But he can sure feel it and show his appreciation.
3. Some day, after Christ has come, and we're resurrected from the dead, when we're all together in one place with the Father and Son, we'll be loving, singing, dancing, hugging, kissing, and crying with joy. It will be a perfect time.
4. This young man asks God to open his eyes so he can see the Lord's glory when Christ comes again. I'm sure the grace of God will see to it! I don't want to miss the wonder, either.
5. There are prayers for each one of us that we never know are sent up for God's consideration. We never know about them, but we can understand that our lives might not be as they are unless someone cares enough to ask a blessing on us. The man in the music here gives us a glimpse that the church is really in the heart, not in the walls constructed of brick, wood, metal, or even stained glass.
6. Every good deed you do is a part of what God would have you do. And, like the music, it brings fantastic happiness. Notice what a fantastic pianist Gordon is. The deed he does in music is part of his happiness.
7. Mercy, mercy. If we could but have the mercy that Messiah showed us. He is there for every soul who ever lived, whether the souls wanted it or not. What a perfect gift - a gift some don't even know exists: Christ's blood shed for all. It would lead all souls to peace. Instead, we have hatred, killing, lying, power seeking, and things said and done that are not beautiful.
8. Music and noise - the same thing if it's for praise. What a happy piece.
9. Gordon can't get anywhere without someone taking him there. Yet, he definitely knows where he's going in his life. What an example! His parents must have been something special. God gave him such a fantastic gift, and he has recognized it as something to give to others and to God.
10. I think Gordon knows what he's talking about. What he sees in life we look at but don't see. I believe he appreciates all that God continues to do for him. There's no sitting and moping for this guy!
11. Gordon and his wife Kimberly sing this piece together. Faith was given to us by Jesus and from God. Jesus redeemed us. He's done it for us. Steven Curtis Chapman was one of the writers of this song. He has suffered a monumental loss of his daughter, who was killed when his older son backed over her with his car in their driveway. I think we're seeing a piece of Steven Chapman's heart.
12. Gordon, with the help of Chaz Borsage, wrote this song for Gordon's mother. It's written about the love of his mother realizing his special needs. As he says, there's no guarantee that life won't be unfair, but the debt this life owes us will all be settled one day.
13. He's never seen the glory, but he lives it. Fireflies hold back the dying day; it's a valiant effort. Even the fireflies have something worthwhile to do.
Thanks for listening and providing a way for me to share with you my love for you, your life, and all of the Father and Son that I have learned to love, respect, and obey. Thank you for spending this time with me. I miss you all in person, but my heart is always full of you. I'm so blessed. Amen.

-- Mom

Comment: Ordered for my mom. She said it was OK, but he's not as good as the last guy who played for the Gaithers.

Summary: GREAT Gospel Album !!! 2008-04-29
Comment: This is a very inspirational gospel album. The songs are all different and Gordon gives you a little of everything from traditional southern gospel to almost a ragtime sound. If you like music that makes your heart sing then this is the album to buy. It stays in my CD player even when everything else gets shuffled around. I love this album and the way it makes me feel. The title track alone is worth buying this album. You will feel different after you have listened to this CD.
