This review is from: Drunk in Public (Audio CD)
Ron White is a very funny and talented comedian that has a lot of potential, and that potential is very well displayed on his first album, "Drunk in Public." While many were introduced to him through the comedy concert movie, "Blue Collar Comedy Tour," I first heard of him through some of my friends. So, I decided to purchase the CD without hearing the man do a single set. It is a decision that I'm happy I made, because Ron White knows how to show you a good time without breaking a sweat.

White talks about a variety of things on his album... most of them involve drinking. Hence the title of the album. Still, he talks about a lot of other things as well. He talks about being married to a "spoiled" wife with rich parents, and how she can't really do anything on her own. He talks about an experience on a small plane where they were uncertain if they would ever see home again... although, Ron didn't really care since he was drinking. A nervous...Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars "Sometimes comedy isn't pretty, folks.", August 10, 2004
This review is from: Drunk in Public (Audio CD)
While casually sipping his gin and dragging on a cigarette, Ron White transports his audience to pure comedic bliss. And like the title of this review, his comedy isn't always pretty, but it's always funny. And I'm not talkin' "chuckle funny." This is "laugh 'til the tears roll down your cheeks" funny. And White's CD DRUNK IN PUBLIC thoroughly showcases this comedian's hilarious talent.

White has a wonderful gift of delivery and timing. He sets up each joke--each punchline--with all the mastery of a wizard at the pinnacle of his craft. Sure, there's profanity, and White discusses and tackles several topics that are less than pleasant, yet his crudeness and vulgarity are merely instruments to his uncanny ability to cut to the chase and deliver an anecdote as efficiently and fluidly as a high performance engine hitting on all cylinders. White doesn't mince words, he doesn't waste time--he goes for the comedic jugular and never lets up.

If you're one of...Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars Humour at its best...., December 4, 2003
This review is from: Drunk in Public (Audio CD)
As a non-US resident who has never had the chance to see Ron White live, this CD was perfect. I first encountered him through the Blue Collar tour and thought his style of dry humour was the best I have ever heard.

When I heard they were releasing a CD of his own, it was like Xmas and I was certainly not disappointed. While some of his material I have heard before (being thrown out of the bar in NYC is the funniest piece of storytelling ever), the new material I heard on this disc blew me away. From the opening piece on the price of sunglasses to his views on his rich in laws and car servicing, you will laugh very, very hard. Its the kind of humour we can all relate to, as it is the stupidity we all encounter every day put into words.
