Early Lightfoot/Sunday Concert

Having seen Gordon live in concert several times, I can say that this CD does a nice job of capturing that experience. Every venue that I've seen him at has been on the smallish side, and I think that plays well to his style of music and his style of concert. Being at a Lightfoot concert feels like having him sitting on the sofa in your living room and giving you a private show, and Sunday Concert has that feel, too. I've never been to a concert at Massey Hall, but I hope to do so before Gordon decides to hang up his guitar.As for the material on this disc, much of it was unknown to me before I purchased it.The "Ballad of Yarmouth Castle" paints a very vivid picture of a shipwreck that happened a decade prior to the more famous Edmund Fitzgerald, but it is no less compelling to hear Gord's telling of the story."Apology" is a tale of love lost and the desparation of wanting it back.
