Summary: album of the year 2008-10-25
Comment: The songs are good and not just your typical blues. The guitar playing however is outstanding. The best I've heard in years. I nominate it for the album of the year.

Summary: Grammy nomination? 2008-10-15
Comment: I believe From the REACH will be Sonny's break through album. It should at least receive a grammy nomination for blues album of the year, if not win. Several of the songs are incredible. However, I especially love "When I Still Had You", which sounds like his lament to the loss of old New Orleans. Although Blue Tarp Blues is obviously about Katrina, several other songs have subtle Katrina references. Plus, at the age of 57, Sonny has paid his dues and is highly underrated. Good songs, emotional topic, musician who has paid his dues - sound like Grammy to me. Reminds me of Bonnie Raitt with Nick of Time
