Summary: Not a Country Fan BUT Love this CD 2008-10-06
Comment: Although I enjoy certain songs by a few Country singers, I am not your true example of a country fan. "Good Ol' Boy: His Greatest Hits" is one CD and definitely a performer I can truly appreciate. Joe Stampley seems to capture the true feelings of each song in his arrangements. I especially love his rendition of "Dear Woman". I would recommend the entire CD as a good mix of some great listening. Thanks for the opportunity to share my opinion. Suzanne

Summary: A must-have CD for fans of traditional country 2008-08-18
Comment: This CD contains most of Stampley's later hits. It has some of the duets with Moe Bandy. Not all of them, but it has most of the Moe & Joe duets that were major country hits. Stampley's style of country music is very soulful but does not lose its honky-tonk edge.

Summary: Good Ol Boy.....as good as it gets! 2005-09-18
Comment: I couldn't be happier with this Greatest Hits by Joe Stampley. It indeed has all his best hits..... I have them on albums (what's an album?) but now I have my favorites on one CD. It is everything a Joe Stampley fan could ask for in a Great Hits CD.

Summary: Fair album 2005-09-17
Comment: A lot of filler here. I have to admit that Joe was not a favorite of mine, and much of his music (including 1/2 of the selections on this album) are slow, dead-tired, remnants of the dying Nashville sound that endure through the early '70's. The few real hits (those songs we sing along with) are here as well, and the recordings are original and well mixed. Not a bad album, but it could have been 5-10 songs shorter and still have been complete. The duets with Moe Bandy at the end of the album are a much needed pick-me-up, and I find myself going straight to the last tracks quite often. But, if you're a big Joe Stampley fan, I have no doubt you'll enjoy this compilation.
