The only thing I would change is that there could have been a few more new songs added to the album, and there were a few huge hits which were left off the cd (such as "Don't Blink"). But even though "Out Last Night" is the only new material on here, it is still a great summer song and another sure-fire #1 hit for Kenny.
This album is an amazing collection of huge hits, and I highly recommend it. The CD starts off with upbeat smash hits like "Young", and "Summertime". Towards the end are classic singles like "There Goes My Life", "I Go Back", and "The Good Stuff". Scattered in between are songs that really give the album a nice & relaxed island feel, such as "Be As You Are", "Down The Road", and the closing song - "I'm Alive". Overall this is a nice way to complete your collection - and a great buy if you're a rather new fan of Kenny. The original 15 tracks are worth purchasing the album for.
Then, less than six months later, the label decides to pull a cheap-money making tactic and re-release the album with two new songs. To boot, the one released to radio, "Ain't Back Yet" is hardly worth the price of downloading from Amazon, let alone RE-BUYING a collection solely to get the song. Face it, the re-issue is a cheap money-making tactic. The label could have easily waited for Chesney's next new album and put it there, but decided differently. If you must have the two new songs, download them for $0.99 apiece. Don't re-purchase the entire collection. 14 of 16 people found the following review helpful: By This review is from: Greatest Hits II (Audio CD) As a relatively new fan of Kenny Chesney's music, I can say that this CD is ideal for someone like me, who doesn't have all the earlier CD releases. Could use a couple more tracks, but I'll wait for those to show up on Volume III, as they inevitably will.
For the record, Summertime is my favorite song to mention Yoo-Hoo in the lyrics. I hope to catch him on tour this summer, if I can get a pair of tickets for less than a mortgage payment. |
