I remember convincing my dad to buy album this in late 1969 when he got our first 8-track stereo. The major down-side to 8-tracks was that they usually changed tracks right in the middle of the song! Boy was that annoying!
Last night something got me thinking about Rod McKuen's "If You Go Away" and I remembered it was on this Glen Campbell album. When I checked Amazon, and saw that it is now in CD, I ordered it right away.
Aside from that song (which alone is worth the price) I also remember just how fun the opening medley of "More" and "Somewhere" happens to be. To end the album with the one of the most beautiful renditions of "The Lord's Prayer" was probably unheard of, but certainly a great decision.
Buy this album - you will llove it.

I was so excited when I saw that this great double live album had been remastered and was available on CD. Any Glen Campbell fan will love this album! The track listing is great although I would have loved it if would have included "Wichita Lineman" and the title song from his movie "True Grit" which was a Oscar nominated song and came out the same year as this concert. Glen's band along with the 1969 Garden Arts Center Orchestra is in top form as is Glen's voice. Very happy I made this purchase. You will be too!

Live, from the Garden State Art Center in New Jersey, 1968...the near perfect and absolutely enjoyable performance by one of the greatest country-rock crossovers of ALL time! If you are a Glen Campbell fan, to miss this performance is to miss out on one of the best live recordings of all time. If you are not a Glen Campbell fan, this recording can help you appreciate something that was magical back in the time when live recordings weren't valued as much as they are today.
It may have helped that I was introduced to this recording back when Capitol released it as a 2 record set in 1969...but I can still listen to this and really appreciate the talent and engineering expertise that helped to bring this recording to the fans of Glen Campbell. I wasn't a die hard fan of him until after I heard this recording. Hopefully hearing this will help you to become a follower of this truly extraordinary talent!!
