Compilation of various Mardi Gras related tracks from the Rounder catalog.

Just in time for this year's Mardi Gras in New Orleans comes this "sampler" from Rounder Records with 12 tracks taken from other previously released records on the label. There are well known classics like Rebith Brass Band's "Do Whatcha Wanna Pt 3" (from the similarly titled compilation "Mardi Gras Party" and Al Johnson's "Carnival Time", along with a take on Professor Longhair's "Tipitina" by Bo Dollis and the Wild Magnolias. The Soul Rebels' "Say Na Hey" is one of the newer titles. Even though Steve Riley & The Mamou Playboys track is titled " La Danse de Mardi Gras", it's a bit more Cajun than zydeco or New Orleans funk. The label chose recordings that don't show up on the typical "Mardi Gras party-type" albums, delving into the Ric and Specialty catalogs that Rounder now owns.
