Album Description
2010 debut from the former American Idol contestant, who placed third in season eight on the popular TV competition. Gokey's life before American Idol embodies the themes that populate the Country music lexicon, from his humble roots in a poor but loving family to his hard-working days as a truck driver to the loss of his wife. Gokey entered the studio determined to craft a debut album filled with songs that mattered. ''I definitely have something to say with this album and I think people will recognize that,'' he says. ''Music was the catalyst that helped bring healing, a determination and a resolve. When my wife passed, I tried out for American Idol and music brought me hope. It brought me a reason to live again. Now I want to bring that into my music.''

Summary: Great blend -The Danny we love, with modern country we can love 2010-03-11
Comment: I was a HUGE Danny fan from American Idol. He has a great voice. I was nervous about a country albumn, since i am not that big of a fan of some country music. But while it is definitely country, it is also definitely Danny and his amazing voice. Love the albumn!

Comment: Danny was my instant favorite from AI8. I love all the songs on the CD. My most favorite is #8 - and that is probably a song that won't even be released!! You don't have to like Country music to like this CD. Danny's voice is soulful and I think it would have broad appeal to many people!

Comment: I think Danny did a fantastic job with this CD! Me personally, I cannot stop listening to it and bought one for my car and one to keep in the house. You can tell he has passion in his singing and in his music choices. Has a great variety with the fast, fun songs to the moving ballots. I have especially listened to "It's Only" over and over again and can't see myself getting sick of listening to it. Such a strong message and I even have my husband listening to it and liking it! Wonderful job Danny! I am a huge supporter of you and wish you all the best and great success! You derserve it!

Comment: I've been eagerly anticipating Dannys'new CD and believe me, he didn't let me down.
Each tune seems to feature a different emotion from deeply sad to very happy and positive; then there's tunes that are just plain fun to tap the steering wheel to.
This young man has shown me that you can be country and have soul. I never thought the two would mix, but with him...it mixes beautifully. Good luck Danny in all you do.

Comment: I am sorry but this is a very boring cd, worse than his performance on AI. Music is really not what it used to be. Don't waste your money
