Diamond Rio's first big hit was called "Meet in the Middle," but "caught in the middle" more accurately describes One More Day: they sound trapped between cookie-cutter pop-country material and the irrepressible individuality of their instrumental and vocal personalities. Jimmy Olander's unique guitar style and Gene Johnson's down-home mandolin do their best to fight through NutraSweet tunes like "'Til the Heartache's Gone" and "The Love of a Woman"; but, like Marty Roe's honest vocals and the group's high-lonesome harmonies, they reside more comfortably in the arms of clever good-time tunes like "Stuff" and "That's Just That." They can also make you believe a heartbreaking tune about a couple's struggle with alcoholism ("I'm Trying") or raise chicken-skin with a tender bluegrass version of J.D. Souther's "Hearts Against the Wind." The NashVegas stuff may get them hits but it's tunes like those and Roy Orbison-meets-Buck Owens-at-the-beach stuff like "I Think I Love You" that makes them interesting. --Michael Ross

Comment: Diamond Rio proves with ONE MORE DAY why they are one of the best country groups that have ever graced country music. The harmonies are superb, the instrumentation is beautiful, and they have good ears for good songs. The album was initially slated to be released in 2000, but was delayed time and time again. The album's first single "Stuff", failed to catch on to listeners or radio. They repackaged the album and released it in early 2001, with the first single, the title track. This song became a huge hit, as it is a song that resonates with many listeners, such as myself. Everyone who has had a loved one who has passed on, knows what this song implies. For me it was one of my best friends who passed away, and all I would ever want is just one more day with him. It's a beautiful song. Another winner is "I'm Trying", a duet with Chely Wright, should have been a single. "I'm Already Gone" is a beautiful song as well. "Sweet Summer" is the perfect summer single. Other favorites of mine include "The Love of A Woman", "You Make Me Feel", "Til The Heartache's Gone" and "Hearts Against The Wind". Overall a stunning collection no fan should be without.

Comment: I would listen to the song "One More Day" in the radio and it always hit me. Finally, I found the artist and with no hesitation, i bought the CD. I have not heard the entire CD but I am willing to buy the CD itself because it has my favorite song "One More Day."I dedicate the song to Yury, whom I always want to be with one more day

Comment: The CD was more than I expected. The sound was excellent and the video included was a real bonus. I must say a word about the seller. He kept me informed of the shipping info and packaged it very carefully. I will look for him when I am in the market for more music purchases ... and so should all of you.
