As Country as a Dirt Clod!,

Justin Moore has once again graced us with a disc full of down-home, good-timin', hillbilly, honest-to-goodness, pure Country Music! This disc should make George Strait and Alan Jackson proud, while still appealing to the contemporary masses. While Justin's drawl might be a bit much for some casual Country fans out there, it fits in perfect with hard-core Country fans and singer alike. If Jennifer Nettle's from Sugarland and Tracy lawrence had a baby, he would sing like Justin Moore! Not only can the man belt 'em out, he can write 'em too! Not content to shop for songs that nashville's writters have put into the big pot, Justin works with a couple of the biggest and best to doctor his writtings, and make them shine. And shine they do. There might only be 2 or 3 songs here that aren't "worthy" of Nashvill radio play, but even those few tunes would be at the top of any Country Party Boy's list of weekend songs.

Sometimes I can be very picky when it comes to my country music. I tend to prefer the older, more traditional artists over today's modern country. But there are always those select few that represent the old mixed with the new...Justin Moore is one of those select artists (for me). I purchased his debut CD when I heard "Small Town USA". It has been one of my favorite "modern country" CD's since that day...until NOW. Justin's sophomore album is just about EVERYTHING that I look for in country music. It has the fun/party "redneck" style tracks, and a few songs with some heart and thought that leaves me looking back on how I grew up. This CD is just as good as his first one, if not BETTER (IMO). I highly recommend this album to all country music fans.

Can I just say that Mr. Justin Moore has renewed my faith in country music! I had gotten to the point of hearing "dressed up country" and really didnt listen to it a lot. One night I was in my car heard this twangy voice singing about .."heaven wasnt so far away.." what got me was the words.."my grandpa would be peeling peaches.." in that moment I literally started crying..thinking about my grandmother who I was best buddies with who died in 1999.
It took me right back to seeing her on her porch next the country store we owned, waving to all the folks..her sitting there "breakin' beans" as we called it..man that was something..Then a friend of mine came over and I asked her who sang the song, she said not only do I know who sings it I have his cd in my car! I listened to it and was blown away....thus began my love affair with Justin Moore..lol!! But seriously, this cd is spectacular, every song I like, its just country, backwoods country, all the detail he puts in his songs about...Read more
