Summary: My Favorite Country CD. 2007-02-27
Comment: i don't listen to very much country at all. sometime's i'll listen to country radio, but rarely. i grew up in the '90s...and one of the singers i grew up on was pam tillis. i bought this CD when i was 9. (in 1997, when it was released) and it's still my favorite country CD, and one of my favorite CDs of all time. pam tillis is the best. if you don't have this CD...buy it. and if you don't listen to pam tillis...shame on you, because you really should. because pam tillis really IS the best. kthx. :D

Summary: Great voice! 2007-01-13
Comment: First, I must say I'm not very familiar with Pam Tillis' songs. But I heard "Let that Pony Run" on Pandora (on my Shania Twain station) a while ago.. and started getting a lump in my throat and literally started tearing up listening to it. And I'm a guy even! And no I wasn't choking on lunch.. ha ha.
Anyhow, that song motivated me to buy the album to see what else was on it. For my tastes I'm not too crazy about the other songs, but the Pony song really strikes a chord within me. What a great voice! If you're a Pam Tillis fan I'm sure you'll love this CD.

Summary: WOW WHAT A VOICE!! 2005-05-12
Comment: This is one of the best CDs I've ever owned!! Pam Tillis has one of the most beautiful voices in country music. This album includes some of her best songs from the 90's. Her frist song "Don't Tell Me What To Do" was the song that first put her on the map, in 1991. Other hits like "Maybe It Was Memphis" and "Shake The Sugar Tree" followed. This album produced 2 top ten hits, "Land Of The Living", and "All The Good Ones Are Gone". Really a wonderful collection of hits. A must have for any country fan's collection!

Summary: A "Greatest Hits" album that's REALLY a greatest hits album! 2005-04-23
Comment: The title "so-and-so's greatest hits" is slapped onto too many albums these days, even when many of the singer's Top 10 hits are missing, and when the hits on the album are diluted with a number of less-great songs. But this Greatest Hits album is exactly what it claims to be. Pam Tillis had 13 top 10 singles between 1991 and 1997 (two of which were introduced on this album); 11 of those 13 hits are on this 12-track CD. And the sub-top-10 12th track that appears in place of the 2 missing Top 10 songs, both of which peaked at No. 6, is "Cleopatra", a classic that HAS to be on a Pam Tillis greatest hits album even if it didn't crack the top 10. You can buy this album with confidence you're getting essentially all of Pam's best-known hits and no filler.
Oh - and I really like Pam's songs and her singing. So with all that going for it, how can I rate this CD at anything less than 5 stars?

Summary: Pam Is The Best! 2003-12-07
Comment: Of all the "modern" female country singers, Pam Tillis most certainly reigns supreme above all other. "Greatest Hits" is a wonderful collection of Tillis's most memorable songs and beautiful ballads. My pick from this album is the beautiful "The River and the Highway" which is one of my favorites of any type of music. There are up-beat classic as well. "Queen of Denial" "Shake the Sugar-Tree" and "My Crazy Life" are all magic to the ear, and of course "Maybe it was Memphis" makes the cut. Pure country gold.
