Customer Rating: 3 Star
Summary: It's a fun cover album 2004-11-18
Comment: I think the reviewer from Harrisonburg, Virginia USA needs to get a sense of humor. This album, and all the "Pickin' on" albums are just fun covers of classic rock songs.

Customer Rating: 4 Star
Summary: Controversial 2003-10-04
Comment: The whole "Pickin' on" series is controversial, some of the records are better in musical quality, some are not so good, but all are BLUEGRASS! So if you are a hardcore fan of Eric Clapton and think the only Eric Clapton can do Eric Clapton songs, STAY AWAY FROM THIS RECORD. If you are a hardcore bluegrass fan who loves Bill Monroe, Flatt & Scruggs (the early stuff!) or the Stanleys, STAY AWAY FROM THIS RECORD!

If you are open to new ideas and want to try out something different, you might want to try this. Some of the tunes fit well for acoustic and bluegrass interpretation, some not so good. Anyway, if you are open-minded enough to try something new from time to time, here's a chance...

Customer Rating: 1 Star
Summary: AWFUL hardly does this album justice. 2000-09-01
Comment: I am one of the world's biggest Clapton fans. This album is NOT for Clapton fans. This album takes some of the best songs in the world and slaughters them.

Ever heard "Layla" on a banjo? Trust me. You don't want to. This album was a gag gift from a friend (an EX-friend now...) who thought it would be great to see my reaction to "Sunshine of Your Love" on a banjo and fiddle. I have never been more horrified or offended by anything in my entire life.

What's next? "Purple Haze" on the accordian? Avoid this album like the Plague. It's only conceivable use is as a coaster. If you want to make a Clapton fan sick, and make them hate you forever, buy them this album.
