I have been a fan of Jimmy Buffett and his music since the early 1970's, and a lover of bluegrass music for even longer. When I saw this CD on Amazon.com, the blending of bluegrass and "Carribean Soul" seemed so ludicrous that I just had to have it. I received the CD three days ago, and have listened to nothing else since. This CD is an absolute treasure! These bluegrass musicians are extraordinary. Listening to their acoustical renditions of "The Songs You Know by Heart", played on traditional bluegrass instruments, brings pure pleasure to both the bluegrass fan and the true Parrot Head. You really have not lived until you've heard "Get Drunk and [you know]" played on fiddle and mandolin. I find myself singing along on this acoustical album ...

I do enjoy this cd. Even though it isn't blue grass it has a tint of it in the music. I think the only reason why it even mentions blue grass is because thats what "pickin' on" is associated with. On the back it states "down-home flavor to tropical folk-rock" which is exactly what this is. If you are looking for nice background drinking music I suggest you purchase this.

I bought this CD a few weeks ago with the purpose of having some background music without lyrics while doing work. Listening to it, I was surprised that I actually enjoyed listening to this. Sure, it's not Buffett (that's why it has 4 stars instead of 5 form me!) but it's still a nice little companion piece for the CD collection. We've even used this for background music at my job and people have commented on how nice it sounds to come into a place of business and hear some fun music like this!
