Summary: Love This Album! 2010-03-05
Comment: This CD is full of great songs that just grow on you the more you hear them! I bought this a month or so before I was planning to see them in concert and I'm so glad I did! At the concert, I knew the songs and had already loved them which made their amazing concert even better for me! Saw the concert tonight in Las Cruces, New Mexico and they were great! This CD is well worth the money! Mine is even more valuable now because Zac Brown himself autographed that baby! Buy it!! It's great!!!

Summary: i gotta say nothing good or original here 2010-02-19
Comment: i agree with R. Davidson, ya'll are kidding right ? i just received this and was sooo dissappointed, standard stuff, stealing some influence from Jimmy Buffett with lame country lyrics. This is trite and meaningless dribble for the masses. A step above standard in playing but overall totally lame. Standard yahoo feel good about being a good ole boy lyrics, nothing to challenge the mind or palate here. This is where the difference lies between Buffett, an original and other real alt country rockers. These guys don't challenge anyone. Sad and i'm so sorry i spent money on this.

Summary: Fried Chicken,Toes and Jolene...great ingredients! 2010-02-18
Comment: The Zac Brown Band is among the best new artists to come along the last few years. "The Foundation" is this Goergia based band's third album but their first major release through a major label. This is not country as most know it.
ZBB's sound ranges from traditional country to Jimmy Buffet in theme with a dash of southern rock stirred in for good measure.
"Chicken Fried" is a good old down-home country song about some of the simple pleasures in life: Beer, fried chicken, pecan pie, music, love, family, comfy jeans, freedom and a good time. The song features a fiddle, as many of the songs do on this album.
"Different Kind of Fine" is more in the new style country, a mix of light rock and country. Of course it's about a "fine" woman. Of all the songs on the album this may be the only one I didn't think was good. Far too poppy for me.
"Jolene" is a slower song but as with most of the songs on the album, well written and performed. All about heartbreak.
"It's Not OK" is sang by John Driskell Hopkins and Zac Brown fits in well in the "Outlaw Country" subgenre of country music. Hopkins has a more gravelly voice which suits a song about turning the other cheek.
"Whatever it is", is a nice little romantic song that talks about the intangible things about a women that drive us guys crazy.
"Where the boat leaves from" & "Toes" sound like is right off of a Jimmy Buffet album and makes you think sunny skies and the open waters of the Caribbean and Mexico. Very catchy song that will bounce around your head all day. I really love the Gulf and western themes in this album. You'll find similar sounds on Greatest Hits IIand Boats, Beaches, Bars & Ballads
"Mary" has a strong Blue Grass sound to it and shows that not only can ZBB do traditional country,Gulf and Western style, blue grass and new style country well.
Top to bottom this is a great album that will bring you through several subgenres of country music, all done at the highest level.
