Bob Wills remains one of the more under recognized "Country Music Giants" as some reviewers have characterized him for over 50 years since the advent of nationally recognized Country Music Superstars such as Johnny Cash, the original Hank Williams and others from the 10950's on. Perhaps it is due to his being from Texas as Texas is 'different,' the state that was once a nation, the biggest state [without ice as my fellow Texans still aver to counter the reminders about Alaska]. Everything from Texas is supposedly bigger, better, brasher etc., and the rest of the country tires of hearing this regional braggadocio. But the musical reality remains that Bob Wills has not received his due.
His genre of music may also have something to do with his less than appropriate legacy. His music is somewhat 'unclassifiable.'
