I remember us getting a Fm broadcast of the late show about a month after it happened and the memories attached to it. This release is a mix of both the early and late show from the Warner Theatre on March 18, 1978 and the performances are nothing short of stunning. I've always liked I Second That Emotion and this one is very good as is the following They Love Each Other. Knockin' On Heaven's Door is one of the better versions from this era while That's What Love Will Make You Do may just outfunk Little Feat. Love In The Afternoon is one of my favorite Cats songs and this version is SWEET. Mystery Train is Jerry's Big River which, by the way, isn't a bad thing. The Harder They Come is it's usual self while Mission In The Rain and Simple Twist Of Fate are as moving as they come. Midnight Moonlight gets things back to a galloping pace and I love the with Donna and Maria sing backup on here. Next are a couple of more tunes from the then new Cats album. I made a point of flying home for spring break when I heard that Jerry was playing the Warner.
It was a good show.
My big thrill was they needed someone to stand for the light focus, and I happened to be on stage. My moment under the lights!
