Ray Stevens is a legendary figure in the music industry having recorded his first songs in 1957 at the age of 18 on the Prep label. Ray recorded and performed on a variety of sessions on Prep and it's parent company, Capitol Records, during 1957-1958...a move to NRC came in 1959...with Ray recording songs written and performed mostly in the standard R&B, late '50s pop music style. Ray's big break arrived late in 1961 when he reached the Top-40 for the first time with a novelty song, "Jeremiah Peabody's Green and Purple Pills", recorded on the Mercury label. The following year "Ahab the Arab" made him a superstar overnight and since then he's enjoyed success throughout five decades and with this CD he's working on his sixth decade of music industry success.

Ad makes one believe you are getting complete CD of all songs mentioned. Bonus DVD reinforces that impression and is not so, with DVD containing only few.
