Summary: Worth it for "Back in the Sadle Again" 2005-06-29
Comment: I was (and still am) a Gene Autry fan, with his soothing mellow voice and easy manner that managed to vanquish everything from train robbers to mole men (really).

But like most things from your childhood, he really isn't as good as your memory suggests when you revist him. Which is where the Riders come in ...

"Back in the Saddle Again" on this album is done the in the polished, rich and mellifluous way that Gene Autry should have done it. It's worth the album for this one track alone.

The rest of the album is also very good, if a tad repetitive. The Riders have the polish that the old cowboy singers lacked. What they seem to lack in this album is immagination.

But it's purty music just the same.

Summary: not that much yodeling 2002-12-22
Comment: This is a great cd. I bought it at a store a couple of years ago and it is top quality. There is not that much yodeling in it, but there is yodeling. They hit every note and the music quality and beat are great. I played it for my wife on a trip and she kind of liked it. (she is mostly a pop tune listener). If you like "western" music this is a great cd.

Summary: Too much yodeling??!! 2002-11-04
Comment: I never thought I'd say it, but there is such a thing as too much yodeling on one CD. Ranger Doug and the boys are fantastic yodelers, but the selection on this CD just gets a little bit repetitive after a while. Sorry, saddle pals, but I prefer it when you mix things up a little more, as on "Harmony Ranch" or "Horse Opera."

Note this CD is a compilaiton of tracks from other Riders releases, some of which are out of print.

Summary: Fun stuff, but not as much yodeling... 2002-07-15
Comment: Fun to listen to, but not as much yodelling as expected.
